First steps:
1. Remove the probe cover.
2. Disconnect the probe from the ultrasound.
3. Remove all gel by wiping with a soft cloth and rinsing with running water. Use a cloth dampened with warm water to clean the dried material from the surface.
4. Check the probe membrane, cable and housing after each use. Check for any damage that will allow liquid to penetrate the probe. If the probe is damaged, do not put the probe in any liquid (eg for disinfection purposes) and do not use it before it has been inspected and repaired/replaced by the GRUPMED Service Representative.

One of the recommended methods for disinfecting ultrasound probes is immersion disinfection:
1. Place the probe in the cleaning-disinfection solution. Be sure not to immerse the probe in the solution beyond the immersion levels indicated in the figure below and to the side. Make sure that the probe is covered with cleaning disinfection solution up to the immersion level during the disinfection process. You can contact us for more information about cleaning and disinfection solution.
2. Wipe the probe as needed using a soft sponge, gauze or cloth to remove any visible residue from the probe surface. If the substance has dried on the surface of the probe, it may be necessary to hold the probe under water for a long time or to wipe it with a soft-bristled brush (for example, a toothbrush).
3. Rinse the probe with enough clean drinking water to remove all disinfectant residue.

4. Clean the cable and the user part of the probe with cleaning-disinfection liquid and a soft cloth. Make sure that the probe surface and the cable are completely wetted with the cleaning-disinfection liquid.
5. Let the probe dry.
6. Reconnect the probe to the ultrasound and replace it.
7. Before use, inspect the probe body, membrane and cable root for damage or degeneration. If any damage is detected, do not use the probe until it has been inspected and repaired/replaced by the GRUPMED Service Representative. 8. Put on a sterile, legally released probe cover before reuse. For disinfection of ultrasound probes, other suitable disinfection methods, such as wipe disinfection, can also be applied as an alternative to disinfection by immersion.
